Invite-Only Platform

cattLedger is an invite-only platform. There is no public signup. All accounts are created by an administering broker on behalf of their clients. Account information (name and email) is provided by the broker during setup, not collected directly from end users.

What We Store

cattLedger stores business data related to cattle operations and financial hedging. This includes cattle inventory (lots, head counts, weights, costs), financial positions, transactions, account balances, trade notes, and coverage targets. This data is entered by brokers or synced from clearing firm feeds on behalf of clients.

How Your Data Is Protected

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. The database is hosted on Render with encryption at rest. Access is restricted to authenticated users with role-based permissions.

Third-Party Services

cattLedger uses the following third-party services:

• Clerk — authentication and two-factor authentication. Clerk receives your name and email address.
• Transactional email (SMTP) — used only for password resets and access notifications.

There are no analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts on this platform.

Data Sharing

Your data is never sold to third parties. Data is shared only with the third-party services listed above, solely for the purpose of operating the platform.

Data Retention & Deletion

Account and business data is retained for ongoing business record-keeping. Accounts can be deactivated by your broker at any time. If you would like your data deleted, contact your broker and they will coordinate with us.
